Clay People is an organization of Ceramics majors and all other interested students. Besides enjoying this shared interest in ceramic art, Clay People earns money from sales each year to spend on things like purchasing equipment for the studio, bringing in visiting artists, and helping with student fees to attend workshops and conferences. In 2007, Clay People funded six students to attend the National Council On Education In the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) international conference in Louisville, KY.
Sales of student work are held in early fall at the Red Barn Art festival, and once at the end of each semester.
